How improving cybersecurity can make government more secure and drive better services
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In today’s rapidly-evolving digital landscape, ensuring the security of a nation’s data and infrastructure is more critical than ever.

To respond to this threat, President Trump has signed an executive order focused on improving protections, with a pledge to do what it takes to make America cyber secure.

This session will share advice from across the federal government on how to implement cyber security best practice, and how to develop the technical and organizational professionalism to improve the security and resilience of the nation’s information systems and networks.

This discussion will look at how government organisations can boost cybersecurity to improve protections across the federal government through more secure software development; how to adopt the latest encryption protocols; and how to implement organization-wide zero trust principles.

This session will also look at how organizations can plan ahead to maintain security in the future. We will discuss how governments can prepare for the impact of artificial intelligence on cybersecurity – and how to use the technology to boost protections – and understand the likely future impact on technologies such as post-quantum cryptography, so departments and agencies can ensure protection against threats that may leverage next-generation compute architectures.
